1. About this policy
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Kristian’s Painting, a painting business serving Perth, Western Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information relating to our website, enquiries and painting services.
Our contact details appear below. We may update this policy as our services or information-handling practices change. The date above identifies the latest version.
2. Information we collect
You may provide information when you complete our quote form, send an email, call us, message us through WhatsApp or discuss a project. Depending on your enquiry, this may include:
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- Your property address, suburb and postcode.
- Painting requirements, project descriptions, photographs and other material you choose to provide.
- Correspondence, site-visit arrangements, quotes and records relating to work you engage us to undertake.
Our website and its service providers may also collect technical information, including device and browser details, IP address, pages visited, referring websites and interactions with the site. Analytics is explained below.
Please share only information relevant to your project. Avoid including identity documents, financial details or unrelated personal information in photographs. If you provide someone else’s details or photographs, ensure you have permission to share them.
You can make a general enquiry without providing every detail. However, without suitable contact and property information, we may be unable to arrange a visit, prepare a quote or provide a service.
3. How we use information
We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, assess project requirements, arrange visits, prepare quotes, organise and deliver painting services, communicate about work, maintain business records and address questions or complaints. We may also use technical information to maintain website security and understand how the site is used.
Submitting project photographs for a quote does not by itself give us permission to publish them for advertising. We will seek permission before using identifiable customer or property photographs for promotional purposes.
4. Who may receive information
Information may be handled by our team and service providers where needed for the purposes above. These may include website hosting and form providers, email and file-storage providers, website support providers, people assisting with your project, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.
This website is hosted on Squarespace. Its handling of information is described in the Squarespace Privacy Policy. If you contact us through WhatsApp, that service also handles information under its privacy policy.
Technology providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. Locations depend on the services used. You can contact us to ask about the providers handling your information.
5. Cookies and Google Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Squarespace uses cookies and similar technologies to support website operation and, depending on the settings enabled, measure website usage.
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), through Squarespace’s built-in integration, to understand how visitors find and use our website. It may collect information such as pages viewed, interactions, visit duration, referral sources, device and browser details, approximate location and online identifiers. This helps us assess and improve the website. Squarespace communicates your cookie consent choices to Google through consent mode. Depending on how consent mode operates, Google may receive limited measurement information without analytics cookies when you decline them.
Google explains its practices in Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Our cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies or manage your preferences. Necessary cookies support the operation of the website. You can revisit your choices using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking cookies may affect some website features. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers; it does not block all website tracking.
We also plan to use Google Search Console to understand how our website appears in Google Search. Search Console does not itself add an on-site analytics tracker.
6. Storage, security and retention
Information may be kept in enquiry records, email, project files and systems operated by our service providers. We take reasonable steps to protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to manage enquiries, carry out work, maintain required records or resolve disputes. Retention depends on the type of record and applicable obligations. When information is no longer needed and does not have to be retained, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
7. Access, correction and your choices
Contact us if you would like to access or correct information we hold about you, ask us to delete information, or raise a concern about its use. Please describe your request and provide a way for us to respond. We may need to verify your identity before providing information.
Deletion may not always be possible where records are still required for a legitimate business or legal purpose. We will explain any relevant limitations. If you receive promotional messages from us, you can ask us to stop sending them.
